Color-phobia or Color-mania?
By ideathreads | December 1, 2007
If you’re phobic about color, stop reading this post. You’re wasting your time. Might we suggest our line of classic black t-s with optical illusions.
On the other hand, color maniacs can now celebrate. The reason is simple. Clean. Graphic. Palettes have arrived. Five color palettes, each with 5 color swatches, one theme.
The only dilemma; which palette to start with.
First up - Moonlit. Picture a warm summer’s eve, around midnight, the storm and accompanying clouds haved parted with the moon now shining through.
……………………………………………………………….
Next - Overcast. In my neck of the woods, the prevailing hue during the winter months tends to be overcast. A tad dreary, yet there are splotches and splashes of wonderfully subdued color as well.
……………………………………………………………….

Then - Falling Leaves. The most colorful of nature’s seasons is surely Autumn. Rich, vibrant hues. A bountiful harvest of them.
………………………………………………………………..
Lastly - Sustainability. Think green. Also blue and yellow. We all benefit from adopting measures to provide sustainability. Perhaps by combining love of color with this wearable stance, you can help spread the word.
More palettes are in the works, so be sure to come back and see what’s new - simply by going to the ideaTHREADS store.

Food
By ideathreads | December 1, 2007
I don’t necessarily wake up hungry. Nor do I go to bed craving something. In between it’s a different story.
Sometimes hunger spurs my thoughts.
Other times, someone mentions a dish that refuses to be ignored.
Then, there are times that a memory of, say, my dad’s shish-ka-bobs (summer time) or my mom’s scallop potatoes (winter) or grandma’s crumb cake (all seasons) drives me to take action.
Fact is, I love food, cooking, gadgets, cooking shows, cookbooks, fine dining, diners… If you do too, then these designs may just be the ticket.
First up, a play on the axiom “If at first you don’t succeed…” In this case, If At First You Don’t Fricassee Fry, Fry A Hen.

Here’s one of two on an alphabet theme, that’s all about food - from Apple tort to Zuchini (baked).
And here’s one focused on just soup - from cream of Asparagus to Zuchini.

Illusions
By ideathreads | December 1, 2007
Most people think of them as optical illusions. Rather, I prefer simply illusions. They are what they are. They don’t deceive. It is how we process what we see, the pathways we use to process what our eyes behold, that is in question. As Pirkinje put it, illusions of the senses tell us the truth about our perceptions.
Regardless, they are endlessly fascinating don’t you think. And, don’t you think it would be fun to wear one, or two? Consider…
I call this first illusion The Cambridge First Last. It has been making the internet rounds lately. Not so much an illusion as a window into how the human mind works. Very illustrative, don’t you think?
Next, let’s go back in time to the Hermann-grid illusion circa 1870. Dark dots “appear” in the intersections, except where you are staring.
Or, how about straight, perpendicular line segments appearing offset?
Or, how about these canted blocks…or are they?
You can find any of these right at the ideaTHREADS store.
